About the company ABOUT THE TEAM & ROLE: Sr Software Development Engineer in Test is a technical individual contributor role at Swiggy and in this role, an individual is solely responsible for setting up and implementation of test automation strategy from Functional and Non-functional perspective for one module or multiple modules (majorly comprising of web app, mobile web, embedded webviews) Job description Job Profile: Sr Software Development Engineer in Test Location: Bangalore | Karnataka Years of Experience: 4 - 6 ABOUT THE TEAM & ROLE: Sr Software Development Engineer in Test is a technical individual contributor role at Swiggy and in this role, an individual is solely responsible for setting up and implementation of test automation strategy from Functional and Non-functional perspective for one module or multiple modules (majorly comprising of web app, mobile web, embedded web views) What qualities are we looking for? • Must be an Independent executioner and has prior experience of handling complex projects with stakeholders. • Must have prior experience with visual regression, accessibility, performance testing, CI/CD integration (GitHub Actions/Jenkins), flaky-test management, component testing. • Good to have prior experience with TypeScript/E2E frameworks (Playwright/Cypress). • Must have prior experience in creating optimal test strategy (Including Functional, Non-Functional, Analytics and automation) and test plans for short term and long-term projects. • Must be strong in verbal and written communication. • Very good design skills. • Must have understanding of mobile app and web automation experience (Appium/ selenium/typescript) • Must have understanding and implementation level experience on design patterns. • Must have prior experience in creating test automation frameworks and self-serve tools. • Must have prior automation experience for Rest based web services using Java • Must have strong hands-on experience on functional and non-functional automation both for Web, Rest services. • Must be strong in writing complex SQL queries using joins. • Must have hands-on experience on designing database schemas for self-serve utilities. • Experience in GenAI tooling for automation and improving testing and regression quality. Experience around cloud managed services, aws is preferred. What will you get to do here? • In this role, you are also responsible for finding innovative ways to optimize the test strategy for maximizing ROI from areas that are undertaken for automation. • Sr SDET is also responsible for the addition of new capabilities and features in the automation framework which is used by the entire QA team for test automation. • You are also responsible for managing and maintaining test coverage through periodic reports to engineering and stakeholders. • Sr SDET is an expert role and demands a complete hands-on contribution on Single or multiple projects simultaneously. • Must have prior experience in creating optimal test strategy (Including Functional, Non-Functional, Analytics and automation) and test plans for short term and long-term projects both • Must have understanding and implementation level experience on design patterns.
