Team Lead, Travel & Expenses

Job Description: The Team Lead, Travel & Expenses will be based in Hyderabad, India . In this position, you will report to the Senior Manager, Finance. Here is a glimpse of what you will do: • Lead end-to-end T&E operations, including expense validation, payment processing, issue resolution, and employee/vendor reconciliations. • Ensure compliance with T&E policies, SOPs, approval requirements, and financial controls. • Review the appropriate accounting treatment and coding of T&E transactions, including GL accounts, cost centres, departments, and projects. • Perform/review subledger-to-GL/Trial Balance reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and month-end close activities. • Investigate accounting discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items. • Ensure appropriate supporting documentation and audit trail are maintained for T&E transactions. • Lead, coach, and develop the T&E team while monitoring KPIs, SLAs, quality, and deadlines. Here is some of what you will need (required): • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • 5–8 years of T&E/AP/Finance Operations experience, including Team Lead or people-management exposure. • Strong accounting knowledge is mandatory, including: • Debits and credits • T&E/AP accounting entries • Accruals and journal entries • GL and Trial Balance reconciliations • Month-end close reporting/activities • Experience with T&E/ERP systems; Coupa experience preferred. • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills. • Flexibility to support US time zones/global operations Here are a few of our preferred experiences: • Willingness to work in complex environment with strict deadlines on projects • Good written & oral communication skills. • Proficiency in MS Excel (Advanced) and use of macros, Power BI dashboards • Good presentation skills and teamwork. • Team management skills At Nextpower, we are driving the global energy transition with an integrated clean energy technology platform that combines intelligent structural, electrical, and digital solutions for utility-scale power plants.
